IFRAME on Facebook

FBML is dead and the Static FBML as well. now is the time of IFRAME. Let me explain how  to create and manage it:

1. Create the HTML page

The new tab allow to create your HTML pages and sharing it on Facebook.
The first step is therefore to create the page, inserting an image, rather than a more complex layout (it’s better to taste it before lose a lot of time and don’t reach your target). The nice thing is that now there are no limits as the version of FBML, and you can add javascript, videos, Flash and much more).
2. Create the Application

Now, our html page has done…let’s go on Developers section..

  • Click the “Set Up New App” on the top right.
  • Enter the name of the Application, accept and continue.
  • From the first screen you can load the application icon. It ’very important because that will appear in the menu tab on your page. Remember the icon has to be 16*16 pixels.

Click on the left menu on the “Web Site”.
Insert as ”Site URL” the address of the website on which you loaded the page.

  • Click left on ”Integration with Facebook.”
  • How ”Canvas URL” re-enter the main URL of the site (remember the trailing slash).
  • Enter the “Name Tab” which will be the name displayed in the menu.
  • Enter ”Form URL” which will be the address to which you have loaded the HTML page that you created earlier.

3. Add to the Application Page

After saving, you return to the overview page. Click on “Application Profile Page”.

A window will open with all the pages you are admin. Click on “Add to page” next to the one on which you want to install the Table

4. Set the Tab Landing

If you want to make sure that users do not even fans are sent directly to the newly created tab instead of the sidebar, do this:

  • Go to your Facebook page.
  • Click “Edit Page” at the top right.
  • Under “First tab displays”, select your Table
  • Save your changes.

Well done..see you soon!
